Earl Barrett - BSc (Hons)


Earl previously played football for Manchester City, Oldham Athletic, Aston Villa, Everton and Sheffield Wednesday.

In the football season of 1990/1991 Earl made his full England debut and the following season he played for England against Germany and Brazil in the United States. His strength speed and agility made him an exceptional defender and a difficult opponent. Ryan Giggs of Manchester United has claimed that Earl was one of the premierships toughest defenders to compete against.

Earl was forced to retire from professional football in the 1998/1999 season, through injury. Not content with ending his sporting career there Earl then went on to gain a Degree from the Manchester Metropolitan University, in Coaching with Sport and Exercise Science.

Earl has coached at Manchester City, Oldham Athletic and Bury FC and has endeavoured to complete coaching courses to become a more qualified coach. He has attended and passed the ‘Certificate in Applied Management Course’ at Warwick University - a course attended by high profile managers from the Premier League, Championship and below

Currently, Earl is lead u16s football coach at Stoke City's Academy. Earl is able to offer fitness and nutritional advice to ArrangeMeADate members, which in turn, helps with confidence and self esteem.
